Gone for a long time? Missed the plot?
This "journal" will contain every event to take place in Viridity that effects all three clans, in order. The older events will be at the top. The newer events will be at the bottom. Scroll through it to find what you've missed.
It was raining, storming even. Lighting carried around the land and the sky remained dark, but the clans decided to hold their gathering regardless. The three leaders climbed upon their great rock on the island just off the shore of the Truce Lands, and peered down at their clan mates below. As the chatter began to die down, Cloudstar was the first to speak.
It was the usual announcements... discussion of prey, how it ran and recent border skirmishes. The same went for HollowClan, whom was lead under Silentstar at the time. They carried out their normal ways, despite the heavy rain that pounded against their backs.
Crowstar then stepped forward to speak, but he had an announcement before proceeding on. "The medicine apprentice of LichenClan," Began the leader, "Acornpaw... he has had a dream, but only wants to speak of it in front of the clans. He wishes not to tell a soul, for StarClan has told him to only tell at the gathering... please, allow him to speak." The clan mates, swept away by curiosity at what could be so important to only be mentioned at the gathering, slowly turned to Acornpaw with question.
At first it was silent, until Acornpaw finally stepped forward to speak. His jaws had only just parted to allow words to come out, but suddenly, lightning struck a tree that hung over Acornpaw, who was fortunately away from the crowd.
The tree had missed the three leaders by a mere inch, and even some warriors... but sadly, it fell down upon Acornpaw and killed him immediately before the prophecy could be spoken.
Shrieks of horror erupted from the clans as the tree ignited and Acornpaw was nowhere to be seen. Crowstar, being the leader of the apprentice, immediately leapt from the rock and searched around.. he was devastated to find Acornpaw's paw hanging out from underneath the tree... he had been crushed. The corpse was retrieved, but he was already dead and burned.
Only one thing could drift through the clans minds at this point... What was Acornpaw going to say?
"They will come to the forest, they will break the balance. A great storm is beginning to rage. Three must either turn to each other, or they shall turn on each other."
The words were spoken like thunder in the three leaders dreams only a night before the next gathering. The clans had just arrived at the gathering island, still shaken up given recent happenings with the last gathering... they were so shaken up, it was actually the first gathering in three moons.
The clans gathered quietly, and the prophecy was spoken. It spooked many clans, but they all reassured themselves that no matter what was to happen, they'd turn to each other.
The chatter began to erupt as it usually did once the leaders finished speaking, until an unknown cat appeared and climbed upon the rock. His nails seemed to push out longer then normal, his neck appeared split open yet he was fine and healthy as ever. Each time he spoke, it was in a bark, and blood and spit flung in different directions.
The cat was none other than War; a virtue of the Dark Forest... War told them that he had arrived in the forest, and what was once a normal gathering was now, once more, one full of fear. Once War had announced his return, he simply... vanished... The clans immediately returned to their camps.
The temperature had dropped dramatically towards the end of leaf bare and Quietbreeze, being one of the only healthy warriors in LichenClan, took it upon herself to hunt on her own. Despite her freezing cold paw pads and the snow that clung to her dark grey pelt, Quiet refused to return to camp.. she had to return with something, anything at all... when her sky blue gaze fell upon a lone rabbit in the middle of the frozen forest clearing, her expression and heart seemed to light up.
Quietbreeze immediately threw herself down into a hunting crouch, and padded quietly in the direction of the rabbit... when only a tail length away, the she cat flung herself and tackled the creature down into the cold grass. With a quick bite to the throat, her prey was killed underneath her claws and Quietbreeze stood pleased and victorious... though, as she looked over the small rabbit, something didn't seem quite right... the area around it's eyes seemed to bleed red. Was that supposed to happen? Quietbreeze shook her thoughts away and picked up the rabbit, proceeding on in the direction of camp.
On the way back, she couldn't help but feel her stomach snarl at her... she too was falling to starvation... and the rabbit, it looked so succulent. She stopped and ripped at the fur.. one bite couldn't hurt, could it? Her teeth slowly sank into the fresh meat and the blood flowed gently onto her tongue and lips. She was pleased, very pleased... but only a mere few seconds after swallowing, she couldn't help but feel dizzy and out of breath. The world around her fell blurry and shaking, and her heart felt as if it was slowing down.
"Help! Help me!" Called out the she cat, before she tumbled onto the ground and began choking and sputtering out blood. "Help..." Whispered the now sickly she as a medicine cat and two warriors came to her aid.
Blood slowly poored from her mouth, eyes and nose, and soon enough, the she cat was dead. The clans examined the scene of the crime, only to conclude that the rabbit was diseased.
LichenClan was saddened... first winter, and now their main source of food was sick and not able to be consumed? The clans went about their life on berries and fish, trying to find a solution to their problem...
The words rang around camp and many warriors fled to the scene of the crime. The elegant Cloudstar slowly stepped into the nursery and thoroughly examined the recently killed adder, with her clan mates and warriors standing behind and peering over her shoulder. How did such a thing wander all the way into their nursery? It was a curious thing indeed. Cloud and a few other warriors looked over the carcass of the snake, and were shocked to find the strong smell of LichenClan on it, with teeth marks on it to signal it had been picked up.
Infuriated, BoulderClan sprung into action immediately and marched into LichenClan camp, accusing the clan of placing a poisonous snake in their nursery.
Crow was baffled at such an accusation. No clan mate even had the heart to trespass onto their land.. who could have committed such a crime? The two leaders spat remarks at each other, until Crowstar finally called out to his clans to "defend their camp and home."
Claws and teeth were used instead of words on that day in LichenClan camp... what seemed like a simple misunderstanding evolved into a terrible raid, but little did they know it was the first of many.
