Permanant wounds
When he was 28 moons, he fell on a sharp rock beside the river by accident. The impact caused major damage to his vocal cords to the extent of never healing to a usable state ever again. He was very foolish and klutzy on the day he obtained it and regrets everything he did that day.

Past
Adder was born into a twoleg home, his mother was a orange tabby kittypet but his father was a bulky black tom who lived in the woods with the 'forest cats', as his mother called them. Adder was very curious about the woodland dwelling cats and he would often sit atop the fences of the twoleg place, watching the woods. However he'd only met his father once when he was very young. But the burly black tom never returned after that, Adder's mother figured him dead. One fateful day during leaf fall, Adder decided to leave the cozy home of the twolegs to try and find his long lost father and maybe one day become one of the forest cats. This wasn't to be, however. The young tom-cat was still very unaware of the dangers in the woods to a newcomer.. On his third night in the woods, he managed to snag a small, wounded sparrow and as he was eating, two massive cats, much older than he, burst out of the shadows. They beat the small, apprentice age tom down, assuming he was from another clan. Horrified, Adder fled from the attack, both ears ripped at the tips. To this day, Adder holds a grudge against most clan cats and will probably be somewhat aggressive or anxious around non-loners/rogues unless he knows them well.
