NAME TRANSITIONS

Pigeonkit - The night before his birth, his mother dreamed of a pigeon asleep in a nest with sage wrapped around its beak. She used this dream to name her only son, as is tradition.

Pigeonpaw - Pigeon's name given to him by Sagewhisper during his apprentice ceremony. 

Pigeonwatcher - Before his mentor passed of old age, he had hastefully given Pigeon his medicine cat name. His suffix implies that he is a diligent watcher of all of his peers.

☆ Belief - StarClan. However, his has a slight disdain towards his fellow ancestors. If one should ask him, he would describe it as having an over-protective mother when you're already a warrior.

☑ Skills - Has a large collective knowledge of herb usage, but is not afraid to experiment and edit old traditional methods (even if his patients may not have realized he had done it). Besides this, he is a natural swimmer and enjoys getting in a pool of water every now and then.

☒ Weaknesses - Terrified of heights (even though his clan identifies with the trait of climbing). He also only has amateur fighting skills since it is not his profession.

✓ Likes - To fool around with herb dosages / analyze what types of herbs effect each cat, and mischief. Has a soft spot for good kits and weirdos.

TRAITS / PERSONALITY

Passive - "Eh, I can live with that I guess."
Pigeon is the one cat you will probably never be in a big debate with. He tends to not get irritated easily and, if spoken to, will apologize if he felt he seemed out of line.

Fearless - "The only thing to fear is consequences, and consequences are for the weak!"
Despite being a cat of medicine who warns others to stay out of harms way, Pigeon himself has little to no boundaries when it comes to dangerous situations. Because of this, however, Pigeon has lost a large amount of skin on his left leg due to an experiment with herbs and fire gone wrong.

Down to Earth - "I don't mind if I die soon. At least we've got a backup medic."
Even though he may be a kidder at times, he never jokes about his death. From his experiences as a medicine cat, he's come to realize that everyone dies at some point. He also knows that his constant idiotic experiments to make herbs more effective (an example would be, of course, that fire hazard mentioned before) will only make his life shorter. He does, however, have faith that his apprentice, Acornpaw, will be able to take his place if he does pass on early.

Insomniac - "Sleep is for the weak! True med cats work day and night to find new treatments!"
Pigeon.... Is not the best of sleepers. One can almost always find him awake late at night working around the den or messing with herb mixtures. His right eye is always bloodshot because of this trait. While he does tell others that his eye never hurts, one can sometimes see him shut his right eye for periods of time.

Empathetic - "Need to talk about it, friend?"
Perhaps its his rank, perhaps it was how he had been raised, but Pigeon always wants to be there for those who are hurting.

Corny - "What's the difference between LichenClan and HollowClan? One feels hollow while the other likes to swim! *batum tsh*"
Pigeon enjoys a good corny joke every now and then. If you've got one ready to go, he'll definitely find the time to sit down and listen.

HISTORY

    Our story begins countless seasons ago, before Crowstar was LichenClan's faithful leader. Under Leafstar's reign, a fair but aged she-cat fell in love with an elder tom. While the she-cat had desperate hopes for offspring, she eventually came to the revelation that she was on the borderline age limit of producing kits. Yet, a few months later, she had a strange dream of a Pigeon asleep in a nest right beside her with sage twined around its beak. When she had awoken the she-cat declared unto the clan that this was a sign from StarClan that she would produce kits of her own. While the other members were skeptical, eventually the she-cat had given birth to one sole tom kitten. Upon his birth, she had named him Pigeonkit.


    Pigeonkit had his mother's breath down his neck from the time he could stand up. He was given constant rules and limitations to what he was allowed to do. Even a simple exercise such as playing outside became a huge ordeal to the elder mother. His father tried his best to give Pigeon any sort of freedom, but the elder tom was not getting any younger and slowly needed to stay inside more and more due to his deteriorating health. As Pigeonkit grew older, his mother became frantic about the looming fact that he would become a warrior.

    Little did the family know that the current medicine cat and his aunt, Sagewhisper, desperately needed a new apprentice. Once the option had sprouted up, his parents had quickly pushed him to become the new medicine cat apprentice. Pigeonkit was given the name Pigeonpaw and was taught diligently by the medicine cat. During his time in training, the leafbare was fast approaching and food became scarce faster than usual. No cat was prepared with stocked food supplies and many died off quickly. Of these cats, both of Pigeon's parents had passed away near the end of his apprenticeship. While most cats would normally mourn, Pigeonpaw was strangely overwhelmed with both the emotions of ease and freedom. One can still see this emotion run wild in Pigeon, as he still has issues with parental figures and always has the internal urge to do dangerous things. During that newleaf his mentor had also passed from a strange event, but had given him his medicine cat name Pigeonwatcher before she left for StarClan. Owleyes. Sagewhisper's friend, had claimed that she had died from a fox attack, but even to this day thinks she had lied to him. After Pigeonwatcher whad a couple of seasons under his belt, Crowfrost was made deputy. The current leader, Leafstar, had become strangely ill. Pigeonwatcher tried all the herb combinations he knew, but nothing could save the poor shecat. After she had lost all of her remaining lives to the disease, Crowfrost was given the title Crowstar and led LichenClan.
   
    Pigeonwatcher, after Crowstar was made leader, made Acornpaw his new medicine cat apprentice. Yet, this apprenticeship did not last very long. After a strange event that lead Acornpaw to be struck by a tree during a gathering, Pigeon has lost some of his remaining sanity. He accuses the Dark Forest for Acornpaw's death and is actively looking for their followers so he can kill them in some form or another. During his lifetime, he has killed 4 cats by his own paws, be it strangling, death berries, or refusal to heal, because he was positive they were with the Dark Forest (he had often did all of these deaths in front of his clan, which he claimed was to make example of the Dark Foresters).

    Once he gained his new apprentice, Silverpaw, however, things started to become more bearable. He was somewhat softened by the sweet apprentice, but made sure she had the ability to kill others with a medic-state of mind if it was required. Once she became Silversong, Pigeonwatcher backed down from his position as medicine cat because Crowstar had feared he was too loopy to continue his constant work. He still does weddings and will treat a cat or two every now and then, but mostly interacts with his old friends and tells ancient stories from his past to the kittens.

    On his last visit with StarClan before he backed down as medicine cat, Pigeonwatcher had a vision of being surrounded by darkness. Looking behind him, he saw a small pair of unbelievably blue eyes, similar to Crowstar's. When he approached the blue eyes, a miniature and infant-like Crowstar attacked him. Pigeonwatcher was thrust to the ground as he felt himself drowning in his own blood. Looking up at his attacker, three other kittens appeared behind him. The medicine cat took from this vision that these were Crowstar's kittens, and that one of them will kill him in the future.
